At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020, I collaborated with multiple divisions across my organization to quickly develop a blog on our intranet dedicated to pandemic-related communication for employees. I led our team in updating this vital digital resource that shared critical details as employees were adjusting to new remote working conditions, reduced capacity in our branches, health screening requirements, and more.
As the organization was making the decision to implement remote work for the first time and close some branches for an unknown period of time, I worked closely with leadership to collect their oral instructions and quickly converted that information into a clear and concise written format that was effectively delivered to all employees.
The blog was laid out in an easy-to-navigate page, with a tile dedicated to each post. The posts were categorized based on how the information related to certain business aspects of the pandemic, including Human Resources, Health, Member Services, and Operations. Throughout the first six months of the pandemic, over 100 updates were shared with employees through this blog, giving them the resources they needed to stay healthy, to get healthy if needed, offer them support during an extremely difficult time, and for our organization to continue serving our members to the best of our ability.
